A home away from home
We are South Australia’s only community-based evening night child care centre, and have operated evening night care since 1987.
Our evening/night care service is currently available on Thursdays and Fridays and we cater for children aged from 6 weeks to 10 years old.
Bookings for the service can be occasional or regular and last-minute bookings are welcome. This can be used by families on a flexible basis, for work, social or study reasons.
Our evening night sessions start at 6.30pm on Thursday and Friday and finishes at 11.30pm on Thursday.
On Friday nights, overnight care is available until 7.45am on Saturday morning. Earlier start times may be available depending on the Centre’s day time bookings.
Routine
Our evening/night care service provides dinner and supper, a play based experience for the children (such as painting, craft, board games) and a cosy sleeping environment.
Bed times vary according to each child’s home routine and our experienced evening/night care staff will ensure that children are put to bed when tired, are fed when hungry and are available to provide comfort and support when needed.
At the start of each session, families are greeted and have the opportunity to share any relevant information with staff before settling children into an activity.
Dinner is usually served at 6.30pm and after dinner, children participate in a fun evening activity. After the activities, children get into their pyjamas and have a small supper before brushing their teeth and going to bed. Children must be collected by 11.30pm.
Overnight service The Centre offers an overnight service on Friday nights. On waking, children are provided with breakfast and will get ready for the day by getting dressed and brushing their teeth.
Children must be collected by 7.45am.
Our evening/night care service closes for the month of January.
