Children's Programmes
Under 2's Program:
The programs in the Babies and Toddlers are relationship based & encourage secure attachments.
The program and daily routines in the Under 2's allow for flexibility and plenty of choice. In the Under 2's we offer a balance between adult initiated activities and own exploration.
Within the Under 2's, children are becoming more independent. They are attempting to do more for themselves - such as exploring, eating/pouring, dressing and undressing. They are beginning to see themselves as capable individuals in their own world of abilities and potential. As staff we understand and respect their vision, responding with encouragement to their achievements.
As a team, we aim to provide an environment that fosters these independent skills.
Over 2's
Children learn best by experimenting, experiencing, listening, observing, verbalising, exploring, socialising with others and working out problems. Each child develops at their own rate and is an individual. Therefore the program we write on a fortnightly basis is an individual one. By programming for your children's individual needs, we enhance and foster your children's development within an anti-bias curriculum.
Kindergarten Program
In the Over 2's Room and Kindergarten Room a kindergarten session is available to those children aged 3.8 years and over. The aim of the program is for the older children to socialise with their peers and develop pre-maths and literacy skills. During the kindergarten session the program that we offer here is equivalent to a Kindergarten program.
The one difference is that the we have a rest period and the program operates across the whole day.
We keep records of your child's development and this includes observations, drawings, work and a Developmental Checklist. By programming for your children's individual needs; we educate, enhance and foster your children's development within an anti-bias curriculum.
Other Information about our Programs:
“Anti-bias” refers to the fact that we provide all children in our care with equal opportunities. Allowing children to learn, explore and experiment through various mediums of play - including blocks, home corner, and dramatic play, cooking, climbing, drawing and reading. These opportunities are provided to foster every child's development regardless of race, creed, culture, religion, sex, disability or status of family. Individual rights are respected in all aspects of our daily routine.
Our fortnightly program is displayed on our noticeboard and we encourage you to take a moment to have a look at it and the other information displayed there. This program is written in response to our observations of the children's development and interests, and we welcome your input, whether it be suggestions or comments.
